Cap-Haitien & News
Hello everyone! We have had good last few months here in Haiti & we pray you are all doing well. I love my little first graders & cherish the funny & serious times with them. One of my students recently wrote a love note to another student. I didn't even know that 6 & 7 year olds could write love notes! They bring me such joy.
Lyndlee is changing a lot each day, she is becoming such a big girl & quite the praying girl. Some nights when we forget to say prayer, she puts everything down, folds her hands & waits for us to pray. She is a constant reminder of the Lord working in our lives. And we can't believe she will be turning 2 in less than a month.
For those of you who don't know, these next summer months will be bringing about some changes in our life. After much prayer, we will not be returning to Haiti in August. We love the ministry here, love & cherish our friends & students but feel God leading us elsewhere. We have appreciated all your love, prayers & support while we have been ministering/teaching. We feel so blessed to be apart of the ministry here in Haiti & we thank God He brought us here & let us be apart of His work.
Cap-Haitien is where we just got back from! Mr. Jonny, Miss Emily & our family all took a few days off during our spring break & traveled to Cap-Haitien. We stayed at this hotel that was gorgeous. We got to travel & do some amazing sight seeing. It was such a fun time with our friends, such a great time of seeing more of beautiful Haiti.
This week continues our spring break & also breakout. Breakout is a conference for our high schoolers. The teachers speak on different workshops, lead music, and games.
Please keep this in your prayers, that the students' hearts can be open & ready to listen to God.
This month of April marks a special time for our family. It has been exactly a year since we went on the waiting list for a second adoption through The Home of God's Love in Taiwan. Now many of you know, we have no idea when we will get the call, we just know to wait & keep praying. We cannot wait to see how God will bless our family again with another precious Chinese baby! So please keep that in your prayers as well.
Continue to pray for all the teachers & students at Sonlight.
God Bless you all!

Our Beautiful Home & Family Coming to Visit!
We feel so blessed to be able to teach here in Haiti. We were so blessed to have not one but 3 family members come & visit us all within 2 weeks. My brother Josh and my best friend April came one week & the very next week Brennan's sister Kayla came. I think Lyndlee has been in shock with all the company gone now, she got so used to having them all here with us, as did we!
We have 9 more days of school until our Spring/Easter Break. Our family & 2 other teachers are planning to take a trip to Cap-Haitian. We are very excited & looking forward to a few days off from school, sight seeing & just relaxing!
The last picture is breath taking, it is a shot taken from the new church building. It is very exciting watching all the changes! Keep praying that is keeps coming along, that all the workers stay safe. And please keep praying for all the teachers & students here at Sonlight.
We love you.
The Lord bless you & keep you.

Scooby Doo Love & More!
So many of you already know that Lyndlee loves Scooby Doo. It is a thing with just her daddy. Sometimes if I even try to watch with them, she doesn't want me sitting with them, like I said, it is just a special time with her & her daddy. Which honestly is very fine with me because I think the show is ridiculous! So here are some photos from their daily watching!
We are enjoying the weekend & looking forward to next Saturday as my brother Josh & good friend April will be coming to visit. And then the following Saturday Brennan's sister Kayla will be coming to visit. The Lord has blessed us with letting family coming to visit us!
We pray you are all doing well! We thank you for all that you do for our family!

We have had a great few weeks here in Haiti teaching. It has been raining a lot here but we hear most of you all are having different weather too with rain, or a warm day & the next day cold!
Teaching is going great. We have been talking about China in my first grade class. I brought some chop sticks for them so they loved trying to eat with those. I was also able to share so many things that we got on our trip to Taiwan last summer & our story of going to get Lyndlee. They loved to hear it & we also watched some of Lyndlee's Chinese videos. They thought every child on that video was Lyndlee!
Lyndlee comes to recess everyday with my class. She loves that & my students love it too! She looks so cute with her school uniform on, running around with my students!
She has been speaking a lot more lately saying please, thank you, and sorry. Her latest is to say "no way" We aren't for sure where she learned this, Brennan says I say it a lot! So she says it sometimes at not great times, you know when we are asking her to pick up her toys!
She is our joy & we are so thankful she is in our lives.
Brennan surprised us with Valentines on Friday. He went to the 7-11 here & got me chocolate & got Lyndlee a sucker. We were so surprised, I was surprised to see how much it cost but the thought was so sweet. We enjoyed a nice valentines meal with our staff, which was prepared by a group that had come in earlier that week.
Saturday was spent with a few teachers & I going to a orphanage nearby & bringing home some babies to spend the day with us. I chose a baby boy named Judah. He was precious, so quiet & wanted to be held most of the day. Lyndlee loved on him, calling him Ju Ju! It was a great day & we were sad to see him go but know we will keep visiting him & having times where he can come over. Please keep the orphanage in your prayers, they are in need of a new home to keep all the children. Right now they are using the owner's house to keep a lot of the staff & all the babies. Living space is very tight for them, their faith & trust in the Lord is very inspiring.
Better close for now, we love you all & pray you are well. Thanks for all the encouraging and uplifting words you send to us! Keep praying for us as we teach, pray for all our students & all the teachers here at Sonlight!

New Month
Hello family & friends,
Hard to believe that we are in February already, time sure does fly by. We pray you are all in good health & doing well. We miss you, love you, & continue to thank you for all your prayers, love & support while we minister here in Haiti. We continue to stay busy teaching & loving our students! We just turned in 2nd quarter grades last week. This semester starts the busy time with lots of groups coming in to help each week. We feel so uplifted & blessed when groups come in! We are especially looking forward too in about 7 weeks when our brother, our sister & our good friend will be visiting us all in the same month, God is good!
We have been trying to get heathly again, I have lost my voice so teaching last week was interesting! My students kept telling me to cough or clear my throat, they didn't understand that I didn't have a voice! One of my students even told me that I look like I am 12 & now I sound like I am 12 years old!
Please continue to pray for the students here at Sonlight, for all the teachers here, and for continued support to come in for our family. Please continue to pray for good health as we teach. Pray for the Bible College and all the men there that are students, pray for the teachers at the college as well.
We wanted to include a few pictures of my students, they bring such joy to our lives! Just this morning at church, we had 5 Haitian children sitting with us & we were overjoyed. They knew Lyndlee & kept saying her name & wanted to sit with her! It was a precious sight & we thank God for all these moments that touch us & warm our hearts.
God bless you all!

1st Week Back At School!
We are now almost finished with our first week back. We are exhausted, we got a little too used to being back in the states & time off. But we are so happy to be back with our students. My students have given me tons of hugs & smiles, I missed those so much while gone.
Brennan has gotten back into teaching this week at the college. He loves his students & loves being apart of their lives!
Lyndlee is feeling better, thank you for all the prayers, we think her bronchitus has cleared now, praise the Lord! Your prayers/emails are very uplifting to us. She has gotten back into going to preschool each morning, she loves going to school & gets so excited in the morning. Her teacher Miss Cady told us today that when all the other kids are learning & reciting things, that Lyndlee will mumble things right along with them! We were excited over break when a family member heard her say "Bonjour" She loves her teacher Miss Cady & is learning so much! We also went on top of the school one afternoon to fly her kite, she loved that!
This week in my classroom we were talking about animals in our reading time. So we made raccoon masks. The kids loved them so I thought I would include some photos. They bring so much joy to my life & I thank God we are able to be here right now!
Today, both Lyndlee & Naiyah wore Mu outfits so I thought that was pretty cute!
Please keep praying for us & our work here in Haiti. Keep praying for all the students & teachers at Sonlight.
We thank you for all that you do for us! God bless you & keep you.
